JC Pierce llc provides professional Architectural, Engineering, Interior Design, and Construction Management Advisory Services to public school districts and other clients in the southwestern Pennsylvania region. In 2008, Ryan M. Pierce, AIA, President and CEO of the firm, founded the firm to deliver high quality design, unmatched value and uncompromising service. Mr. Pierce has practiced architecture in the western Pennsylvania region for over 22 years. Throughout his career as a design architect, project manager, principal-in-charge, and market segment vice president for two of the regions largest architectural firms, Mr. Pierce has helped deliver effective strategic plans and signature projects for school districts of varying size and demographics.
In 2009 the firm implemented a growth strategy by acquired assets and hiring key staff members from one of the regions's leading designers of educational facilities. Our portfolio and professional experience now includes hundreds of projects for over 40 western Pennsylvania school districts, with an estimated construction value of nearly a billion dollars in today's costs. Our projects range from $25,000 service projects, to full school renovations and new buildings, to $100 million phased district-wide construction programs.
We are especially proud of our repeat work. Twenty-nine of our school district clients (and all of our current jobs) have retained us to complete three or more major projects, which is a testament to the level of quality, dependability and service provided by our team.
The firm provides a full range of services beginning in the pre-design/planning phase. Our history of successful feasibility studies and our proven Strategic Master Planning of Schools (SMPS), developed and refined by Ryan M. Pierce, AIA, provides our clients with a usable master planning tool for making critical long-term decisions. In schematic design, our focus is on value. We strive to provide aesthetically pleasing and spatially exciting design solutions that are cost effective and meet the needs of the educational program.
In construction documents phase, we undertake constant Value-Analysis - a process by which we evaluate every decision according to it's cost-value ratio, to determine the best, most cost-effective, solution to each project's unique challenge. Great care is taken to work closely with the client to ensure that communication is maintained and the design, construction and material selections are appropriate for the project. We also provide Construction Management Advisory (CMa) services to ensure a turn-key delivery of the project. On projects where our team has performed both architectural and CMa, change orders average less then 1.5% for errors and omissions - far below the industry standard.
